By the start of 2016, oil drilling in Wyoming could be at record levels if each of the current proposed permits on the docket are approved. According to the Casper Star Tribune, the lion’s share of the 20,000 planned wells, are from a select group of projects in western and central Wyoming and are wells that are primarily targeting natural gas.

If a majority of these projects are approved it would mean hundreds or even thousands of new jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenue for the local and state governments. Unlike the traditional boom and bust cycles of the past, these oil field projects are expected to maintain high activity for some 50 years. Wyoming has already seen increased drilling over the past 5 years but if the proposed drilling operations are approved, oil production will be at a level that has never been seen before in Wyoming.

Companies like Legend Services Inc. who provide oil field support and equipment for drilling, production, and completion services will become a valuable resource to help handle the pending growth in the area. Legend, a Wyoming based company, provides custom-built equipment which is serviced in-house to target your specific on-site needs. Legend takes pride in their ability to provide the most efficient processes in the industry, like their on demand frac-heating services which can now be pulled from a bulk source and is able to heat 30+ barrels of water per minute at a 65 degree increase from the starting temperature. Legend also features a full line up of industrial trucks and equipment to support on-site services.

The already busy oil production in Wyoming is likely to reach new heights over the next 12-18 months which will spark new business, new jobs, and increased population for those who will come in search of new higher paying jobs.
